William (Bill) A. Mensing, age 77 of Giese died on Monday, October 11th, 2021.

Bill was born on May 3, 1944, in Giese, MN to Wilhelm and Dena (Bronner) Mensing.  He attended McGrath High School, graduating in 1962. He married Kathy Monette on October 4, 1969 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giese, the church that Bill was baptized and confirmed in. Together, they raised four beautiful children together, Boyd, Dustin, Heidi, and Matt.  Bill dedicated many hardworking years of his life farming on the property he grew up on.  Once he sold the cows, Bill worked at the Hinckley casino as groundskeeper and at East Central High School as a janitor.  He loved fishing, gardening, dancing, playing cards, chicken tending, his grandchildren, and desserts.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Dena; his brothers, Lloyd, Walter, Henry and Lawrence; and sister, Arlene.

Bill is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 52 years, Kathy; children, Boyd (Deanna) of Giese, Dustin (Kate) of Brook Park, Heidi Gray of Princeton, and Matt of Giese; grandchildren Mahayla, Grant, Dena, Tim, Morgan, Cassandra, Katie, and Blake; brother, Richard (Beverly) Mensing of Giese, sister, Lorraine Dirks of Marble Falls, TX and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is planned for Bill on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giese, with Pastor Richard Langhorst officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11 am at the church.
