Obituary

Walter Charles Sutton Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, partner, brother, son, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 62.

Born on April 28, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up there and also spent time in Redby, known fondly as the “Copper City.” Walter was known for his big heart and even bigger personality; he didn’t take no mess from anyone.

For over 28 years, Walter shared his life with Kimberly House, although they never married, they did raise a family and she always held a special place in his heart. He was proud of his role as a father to Andrew (Kelli) and Nate (Susan) Sutton, and he adored his grandsons Max and Phoenix, often spoiling them with love and attention.

Walter loved the thrill of the game, often found playing cards with friends or glued to the TV watching boxing and his favorite Minnesota sports teams, especially the Vikings.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Sr. and Eva Marie Sutton; his daughter, Tasha Marie Sutton; his brothers, Reno Jay Sutton and Irvin Sutton; and his sisters, Deana Benjamin and Shirley Beach, and nephew Dillon James Goodsky.

Walter leaves behind a tapestry of loved ones including the mother of his children Kimberly House of North Branch, sons Andrew (Kelli) and Nathan (Susan) Sutton of Hinckley, daughter Danielle Hausladen and family of Blaine, sister, Sharon Sutton (Mike) of Hinckley, brother Henry (Brenda) Sutton of Bemidji, brother Charles (Lucille) Sutton of Ramsey, the Loves of his Life his grandsons Max and Phoenix Sutton, nephews, Ben Taylor Jr., Jarvis Goodsky, and Jory Potter, nieces, Selena Taylor, Rachel Sutton, Amanda Sutton, and Jamie Hanson, many more cousins, friends and acquaintances who will miss his laughter and his no-nonsense approach to life.

Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Walter’s life on August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clover Community Church. Following the service, there will be a burial. We encourage everyone to come share stories, laughter, and memories of Walter, who truly lived life on his own terms.
