Stanchfield
Oct 14, 1946 — Apr 25, 2024
Brook Park
Walter Stanchfield died on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home in Brook Park. He was 77 years old.
He was born on October 14, 1946, at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In his early years he lived in Northeast Minneapolis, then moved to Mississippi Court, Brooklyn Center, Osseo, North Minneapolis, back to Brooklyn Center and finally settled in Brook Park, Minnesota.

On August 31, 1974, he married Corles "Cory" (Woolhouse) Stanchfield at St Annes Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
Walter worked at a Dairy Queen in Minneapolis and delivered newspapers before becoming a cook in the navy, after he returned from service he settled on a career as a painter. One of his favorite painting projects was the exterior of the Paradise Theatre renovation in downtown Mora. Walter enjoyed doing anything with his grandkids and family. He was always cracking jokes and taught all the grandkids how to swim. He loved attending the County and State Fairs, the Education Building and a pronto pup with just mustard were some of his fair highlights. Walter loved attending Navasota, family, and High School reunions. He enjoyed coaching his son's baseball teams and his grandkid's t-ball and baseball teams. After every National Anthem, no matter the occasion, he would yell "Play Ball!" Walter enjoyed feeding the birds, cats, and dogs, actually he was happy to feed any animal! He took great pride in planting trees, the "22,000 Poplar Plantation" and over 500 pine trees for starters.
