Walter Chryn, of Edina, formerly of Sandstone, Minnesota, passed away on September 4, 2022, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He was 71 years old.

America has lost another one of its finest.  Walter was born on the family farm, 12 miles east of Sandstone on October 23, 1950, to immigrant parents, Jan and Weronika (Deska) Chryn.  The fourth born of seven children, and the first to be born on American soil.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jan, brother Joseph, and brother-in-law Timothy Monson.

Walter is survived by his mother Weronika Chryn, very special friend, Lori Johnson, sisters; Jadwiga (Donald) Monson, Veronica (Kevin) Monson, and Mary (Timothy) Monson, brothers; John and Danny Chryn, cousins; Christine Gardner and Stanley Chryn, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Danforth Community Church on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00AM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Walter will be laid to rest at the Danforth Cemetery.  Military Honors will be provided by the Sandstone Honor Guard.
