Virginia (Ginny) Ballantyne passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, resting in the promise of eternal life, at the age of 83. She was born on December 15, 1942, to Eleen and Edward Leight in Minneapolis, MN. She was the first of ten children.

She married Chuck and had two children: Mike and Marie. They lived by the little Wonder Store and in Johnsville on 65 & 242. Then they bought a little farm next to the Green Barn in Isanti, MN where she loved working at the Greenbarn, growing their own garden and having a vegetable stand. She loved gardening. Ginny and Chuck enjoyed Minnesota in the warm months and took their RV to Arizona during the winter months. After the farm, they lived in Clarisa for a while, then settled in Mora, MN. She was a waitress and a receptionist at the Mora Clinic and loved to socialize with folks.

She is survived by her children; Mike (Barb) Brown and Marie (Kevin) Ballantyne-Payne; grandchildren; Twitch Wymer, Angella (Bret) Knutson, Brandon Brown, David (Megan) Hoffman; great grandchildren; Nicole Knuston, Cameron Wymer, Harvey Hoffman, Raiden Brown, Odin Brown, Triton Brown, Timothy Knutson, Samantha Knutson, Evvie Knuton, Elijah Knutson, Arya Knutson; great great grandchild; Charlotte Knutson; brothers and sisters: Mary (Swede) Johnson, James (Linda) Leight, Cathy (Greg) Bartlett, Liz (Kevin) Klar, and Maggie (Mark) Towle.

Proceeded in death by; Her parents Eleen and Edward Leight, Husband Chuck, brothers Buzzy (Ed jr.), Tom, Pat, Richard.

A funeral service will be held for Ginny at the Tatting Methven Funeral Home chapel at 11am on Tuesday , February 10, 2026 with visitation being from 10am to 11am at the chapel.
