Virgil John Seegebarth, formerly of Hinckley, Minnesota, passed away on October 5, 2025 at the age of 88.

Virgil was born in Perham, Minnesota on September, 9, 1937 to John and Lula Seegebarth.  He grew up on a farm near Callaway, Minnesota.  He attended a one room school (District 132) for eight years.  He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1956.  He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard for three years and a member of the US Navy for four years.  He worked for Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) for 36 years (1956-1992).  He married Joyce Zehms in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on October 2, 1960.  They raised three sons living in different areas of the Twin Cities.  In 1997 they moved to a hobby farm with woods near Hinckley, Minnesota.  They enjoyed country living.  They spent over 20 years enjoying gardening and walking in the woods.  They enjoyed their winters in the western and southern United States.

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lula Seegebarth, son John Seegebarth, sisters Laville (Palmer) Sigler, and JoAnne (Walter) Huntington.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Zehms) of Pine City, Minnesota, sons, James (Judi) of Rising City, Nebraska, and Gerald (Gina) of Pine City, Minnesota, eight grandchildren; Jacob, James, Andrew, Christopher, Melissa, Rona, Joshua and Melanie, six great-grandchildren; Ryan, Cora, Luca, Ethan, Elijah and Evan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City, Minnesota (825 Golf Ave SW) on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
