Steve Cabak , 71,  passed away peacefully at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth on Thursday, February 3, 2022, surrounded by his sons and family.

He was born to Don and Lucille Cabak in 1950. He graduated in 1968 from Hinckley High School.  Throughout his life, he worked for Don's North Star, Gerald Schmidt Construction, A & W in Hinckley (manager), Arcon Construction, and MN Corrections Facility Willow River Moose Lake and Rush City.

Steve lived in Hinckley his whole life where he enjoyed being near family. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, making wood furniture, going for drives in his truck, and visiting with friends and family at local businesses. He was loved by many, and he will be dearly missed.

Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents Don and Lucille Cabak ; infant Sister Karen Joy Cabak ; and beloved great-nephew Mason Bork.

He is survived by his 2 sons Doug (Chelsie) Cabak and Kris (Suzie) Cabak ; grandchildren Sylvia, Rayna, and Drake; siblings Danny (Bonnie) Cabak , Paul (Deanna) Cabak , Kurt (Cheri) Cabak , Donna (Rob) Sahlen, Bart (Cheryl) Cabak , Ted (Denise) Cabak ; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4 until 6 P.M. at Tatting-Methven Funeral Home in Hinckley. Honorary Casketbearers are Sylvia Cabak , Rayna Cabak , and Drake Cabak . Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Hinckley at a later date.
