Sharon Kay Thomsen of Mora, MN died on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.  She was 83 years old.

Sharon was born in Waterloo, Iowa on August 4, 1939 to Dale and Frances (Hubbard) Buck.  She moved to McGrath as a young child and graduated from McGrath High School in 1957.  After high school she attended cosmetology school and also received her CNA and HHA.  She raised six children on her family farm in McGrath, she then moved to Mora where she lived until she passed away.

She was a cosmetologist, CNA, HHA and retired from Fingerhut in Mora.  Sharon enjoyed gardening, finding treasures for her grandchildren at garage sales, dancing polkas and waltzes.  She loved spending time with family and friends, volunteering at the nursing home, having gatherings for barbecues, watching football and trivia game shows and doing crossword puzzles.

Sharon will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Frances Buck, brothers; Stanley and Eugene, sisters; Barbara, Wilda, and Linda, daughter, Shari Nowling, grandsons; Jeremy and Bradly, and long time friend, Robert (Bob) Nelson.

Sharon is survived by her brothers; Jimmy Buck of Malmo, MN, and Gary (Lisa) Buck of Stover, Missouri, sister, Judy (Leo) Brenny of Mora, Minnesota, sons; Steve (Sue) Thomsen of Florida, Mark (Lynette) Thomsen of Mora, Minnesota, Michael Thomsen of North Dakota, daughters; Traci Olson of McGrath, Minnesota, and Nancy (Calvin) Stemig of McGrath, Minnesota, 20 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 1:00PM- 4:00PM at the Mora Masonic Hall in Mora, Minnesota.
