Ross was born in Onamia, Minnesota to Walter and Gloria (Eklund) Habeck on November 8, 1958. Ross attended Wahkon Elementary and graduated from Isle High School in 1977. He enjoyed wrestling in high school and played football both in high school and in college. Ross was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Isle. He was an active member of the Isle Fire Department from 1985 until 2009.
He enjoyed hunting and annual fishing trips to the Lake of the Woods with family and friends. He loved farming and everything that came along with it including cattle auctions, riding around the land, walking the timber sales, walking the dirt roads in search of agates, and finding four-leaf clovers. He was a farmer at heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gloria Habeck, father-in-law Bud Haggberg, his nephews; Adam Habeck and Tom Leach and his brother Roy Habeck.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Dawn Habeck, his children Stephanie, Phillip ( Jade), Paul, and Katherine Hannah, all of Isle, Minnesota, three grandchildren; Lillie (her dad Pete Berezni), and James and Violet Duncan, his sister Robin Ogden, brother Rick (Mellisa) Habeck, mother in law Dorothy (Grannie) Haggberg, brother-in-law, David (Susie) Haggberg, sisters-in-law, Diane (Bill) Leach, Danette ( Ken) Rominske, Julie Habeck, nephews; Aaron (Lyz) Habeck, Dan ( Jasmine) Habeck, Tim (Kim) Habeck, John (Della Dustin) Fellows, Jeremy Haggberg, Mike Leach, Chad Leach and Matt Young, nieces; Kristin (Beau) Beck, Raena (Matt) Hennan, Laura (Jason) Murray, Kristin (Andy) Cooper, Jennie (Ken) Marcellis, Tatianna Habeck, and Kelsey Habeck
