Ronald Herbert
Gallion
Apr 22, 1943 — Dec 8, 2021
Hernando
Ronald Herbert Gallion was born physically on April 22, 1943 in Trenton, Missouri, to Alvin and Marian Gallion and passed into the arms of Jesus on December 8, 2021 in Hernando, Mississippi. He was the fourth of six children.
At the age of fifteen, Ron realized that he was a sinner, and by God's grace, trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was born again that day, spiritually, and became a Christian.
Although born in Missouri, Ron lived most of his life in north central and southern Minnesota, moving to Missouri for one year of high school, and returning to graduate from Isle High School in 1961. Upon graduation, he moved to Minneapolis where he attended trade school and worked several jobs, which included general laborer, material handler, machinist, mechanic, custodian, and buildings and grounds supervisor. In 1962 he met and married Janice Lindlow.
In 1974, Ron attended Bible Institute in Coon Rapids and in 1976, Ron felt the call to the ministry, moving his family to Owatonna, MN, where he attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. After two years of college, Ron realized that God had not called him to the ministry, but had relocated him, so as to prepare him for more intensive lay ministry. While at Pillsbury Bible College, Ron worked as the head of building and grounds maintenance, which prepared him for a move to Red Wing, MN in 1980, where he accepted a role as head of buildings and grounds maintenance, while he led a work to start a fundamental Baptist church in that town. He later started his own precision tooling company: LOR-RON, which was a testimony of his relationship with the Lord. Ron retired in 2008 to the family farm in Isle, MN.
Ron is survived by wife Janice, daughter Kathy Eberly (Dale), son Michael Gallion (Tammy), son Kenneth Gallion (Brenda), son Timothy Gallion (Renee), 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, sisters Kathy Lindholm (Al) and Anetha Drexler, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and two brothers.
If lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the building fund at Clearview Baptist Church, Southaven, MS.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00 at Malmo Evangelical Free Church. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Opstead Cemetery following the service.
