Roger Joseph Sherer, 79, of Isle, MN, passed away on August 3, 2024. He was born on May 8, 1945, in St. Paul, MN, to Donald and Viola (Meier) Sherer.

Roger served in the Army from 1964 to 1967 during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of SP-4. Following his military service, he worked as a dedicated machinist. Roger married Ellen Marie Filkins on May 24, 1969, sharing many happy years together before her passing.

Roger was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother and always loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, always finding peace in the great outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Jack and his wife Marie

Roger is survived by his daughters, Sonya (Matt) Towle and Leanne Sherer (Lorne Wellman), his brothers Bob Sherer and sisters Bonnie Waters, Kathy Pekarek, and Gail (Steve) Burvee. Roger was a loving grandfather to Annette Schmidt, Joshua Towle, and Beth Towle and a doting great-grandfather to James and Kyzer.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Dresser Methven Funeral Chapel in Mora, Minnesota. The burial will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
