Roger Charles Canon of Finlayson, MN passed away at Moose Lake Village-Kenwood on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was 76 years old.

Roger was born on August 26, 1948, to Cleo and Viola Canon in Fort Knox, Kentucky. After Roger's schooling he enlisted in the Army. Roger spent two tours of duty in Vietnam. Roger was very proud to serve in the military. He had much knowledge of the history and trivia facts, which he would share with anyone who wanted to listen. After leaving the military, Roger spent the bulk of his life in El Paso, Texas, where he had many friends. Roger never married.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Viola and father, Cleo, who was a World War II veteran, decorated for his deeds, and his brother Randall Canon of New Mexico.

Roger had an additional family due to his everlasting friendship with Dan and Jane Crutchfield over the decades from the 1960's till Roger's death. He will be missed and remembered for his kindness towards our daughters, Rebecca (Davie) and Kyal, along with our grandchildren Alivia, David, Samantha, and Evelynne.

A visitation will be held for Roger on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Methven Funeral Home chapel from 6pm to 8pm. His burial will take place later next week with military honors at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas near his father, per one of Roger's final wishes.
