Rodney (Rod) Scott Langerud of Sandstone, MN passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Essentia Health Campus in Sandstone, MN. He was 62 years old.

Rodney was born July 16, 1962, to Dennis and Lois (Dupuis) Langerud in Sandstone, MN. He attended school in Minnetonka until moving to Sandstone, where he graduated from Sandstone High School on June 1, 1980. While Rod was in school, he worked in the tree fields, after graduating he went to vocational technology school in Duluth for auto body and powder painting. Rod went on to work in the oil fields then came back to the Sandstone area and worked for Rocket Powder Coating in Hinckley.

Rod is preceded in death by his partner, Rita Freeman; his father, Dennis Langerud; his brother, Keith; grandparents, Clem and Mae Dupuis, Ella Ness; and cousin, Anita Peterson.

Rod is survived by his mother, Lois Langerud; brothers, Gregory (Teresa L.) and Troy Langerud; nieces, Samantha Erichsrud and Kristina (Mike) Kolecki; great nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Colton and Cheyanne Erichsrud and Logan, Mikey, Eddy, and Airianna Kolecki; cousins, Rene (John) Delaney, Theresa Mowdy, and Robert Dupuis.

A Celebration of Life has been planned for July 26, 2025 from 1pm to 3pm at the Dupuis Residence, located at 53727 Dupuis Road, Sandstone, MN.
