Robin Darrell Anderson aka "Chief" to many, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on August 3 rd, 2021 at the age of 59, with his beloved daughter and only child, Robyn Ann Renner by his side and holding his hand.
Robin is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Anderson and Robert Anderson, and his oldest brother, Roger Dunkley. He was an adored Daddy to daughter Robyn Ann and special father-in-law to her husband Matthew Renner, and was loving Papa to grandchildren Aiyana, Aiden and Aria Renner as well as grandog, Bear, who will all miss him tremendously. He will be greatly missed as well by six special brothers and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who survive him.
Robin is a member of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. A Wake (Visitation) will take place Friday evening, August 6th beginning at Dusk (app. 8-8:30 pm). A traditional Ojibwe Funeral will be held on Saturday morning, August 7 th beginning at 10 am, Bradley "Nazhike" Harrington, Spiritual Leader will officiate. Both events will take place at the Aazhoomog (Lake Lena) Community Center, 45749 Grace Lake Rd, Sandstone, MN.
Following the conclusion of the Funeral, Robin will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery (2600 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418). A graveside service for family and close friends will take place beginning at 3:00 pm. Please gather at the Chapel for a procession to the gravesite before 3:00 pm.
Immediately following the graveside service everyone who loves Robin is invited to attend a casual celebration of his life at Columbia Park, 800 Columbia Pkwy, Minneapolis (3.3 miles from Hillside – a 9 minute drive) from 4-6 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Bring your memories and photos of Robin with you and share with one and all!
