Robert (Bob) William Koski died on Sunday, April 12, 2026, peacefully at his home. Bob's journey with lewy body dementia began in 2021. His loving wife, family, special caregiver Barb Rassal and canine companion Charlie, were blessed and honored to care for him at home until his passing.

Bob was born to Ed and Irene Koski on January 3, 1939, in Finlayson, Mn. He grew up in Finlayson where his mother & father owned and operated Ed's Grocery Store.  He graduated from Finlayson High School in 1957. He joined the MN National Guard in 1960 after completing basic training at Fort Leonardwood in Missouri. He married Judith Alleman on September 3, 1960, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giese, MN. They lived in Minneapolis until son Tim was born in December of 1961. Bob took a job with North Pine Electric in Finlayson as work order clerk. Daughter Nancy was born in 1963, and daughter Denise in 1964. He then attended Dunwoody Institute for appliance repair. Son Tom was born in 1970. Bob worked for various local electricians – Zaudtke Electric, Ellingson Electric and Bill Carlson Electric as well as Minnesota Panel Systems. He and Judy also bought a farm stead and raised feeder pigs for several years, teaching their children how to work as a family. Until his retirement in 2003, he worked with his son Tim and daughter-in-law Lisa at Quality Home Center where he delivered appliances and installed satellite dishes. He and Judy were blessed to have 20+ years of retirement together.

Bob loved to plant trees on his land as well as raspberries and chokeberries. His hobby was making wine from the berry trees he planted.  He liked to cut wood for his woodstove and spend time in the birch knob in his woods.

Bob was active in his church at Peace Lutheran in Finlayson. Over the years, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Men's Club, Bible Study, Usher and Financial Secretary.

With his dementia, Bob became a different version of himself, and his family made new memories with him and will cherish both the old and new.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Irene Koski, brothers Wallace, Milton and Leslie and son Tom.  He is survived by wife Judy, son Tim (Lisa) Koski, daughter Nancy (Bruce) Pogatchnik, daughter Denise (Scott) Torgerson, daughter in law Maureen Koski, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister Gladys Loney.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Pastor Konkel for his many visits and most recently, Ecumen Hospice for their wonderful care and guidance.  We know that in ordinary circumstances, Bob would have loved visiting with those he used to. He will be deeply missed. Blessed be his memory.

A funeral service will be held for Bob at 12:30pm on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Finlayson, MN with Pastor Nathaniel Konkel officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the church before the service. Burial will take place after lunch at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery.
