Robert "Bob" Francis Harrison passed away on July 23, 2024, in Cambridge MN, with his family by his side. Bob was born on April 24, 1931, in Hibbing MN and traveled through various corners of the country during his lifetime including Stevenson MN; Crystal Falls MI; Gilbert MN; Renville MN; San Antonio TX; Nevis MN; Mora MN; and finally calling Cambridge MN home.
Bob graduated from high school in Gilbert MN before continuing his studies at Eveleth Junior College in 1951. Eventually, he earned his teaching degree from St. Cloud State and embarked on a successful teaching career, spending two years each teaching Industrial Arts in Renville MN and Nevis MN, followed by 26 years at Mora High School. In addition to his teaching career, Bob served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959, reaching the rank of SP4.
In 1957, Bob married Elaine Waller of Renville MN and they enjoyed many road trips throughout the U.S. They had two children: Timothy and Cynthia. A lover of woodworking, hunting, fishing, and gardening, Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Bob was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine; his children Tim (Sue) Harrison of Rochester MN and Cindy (Ken) Nordmann of Sartell MN. He leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren Tracy, Kaylee, Maurice, Jesse, Amanda, and Ryan, and great-grandchildren Zayda and Kashton. Bob is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marie Waller of Minnetonka MN and brothers-in-law Lloyd Waller of Oklahoma and Dale and Michael Waller, both of Washington State.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Anthony Cloose officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church. Military honors are being provided by Mora American Legion Post 201.
