Robert "Bob" R. Peterson, age 93 years and 5 months of Isle, MN, passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side at Mille Lacs Health System, Onamia MN, on January 24, 2026.

Bob was born on August 24, 1932, at home in Cokato, MN, to his parents Fillmore and Sylvia Peterson. He graduated from Cokato High School in 1951. Bob enjoyed all sports and was selected athlete of the year during his senior year.

Bob served as a military police CPL in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, Bob attended St. Cloud State University and received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education.

Bob taught and was the K-12 librarian in the Isle School District for 31 years. During the 1960's he was the coach for the high school baseball team.

After Bob retired from teaching, he worked as a real estate agent/broker in the Mille Lacs Lake area for 20+ years.

Bob was elected and served as mayor of Isle for eight years. He was a member of the Isle Lions Club. Bob volunteered at the Isle Food Bank. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Bob is survived by his son, Greg; his granddaughter, Megan (Tony); his great-grandsons, Ryder and Wilder; his grandson Chase; his stepson Craig (Londa) Larson; and his daughter Gail.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fillmore and Sylvia; his wife, Della; his stepson Mark Larson; and his former wife Marlene.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Methven Funeral Home, Mille Lacs Chapel in Isle.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M.  Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery.  Military Honors are being provided by the Isle Area Honor Guard.
