Raymond
Iaquinto
Mar 5, 1934 — Mar 20, 2023
Raymond Edward laquinto passed on March 20, 2023, at 5:16 pm at Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, Minnesota. He was 89 years old. Raymond will be dearly missed and remembered by many family and friends.
Raymond was born in Minneapolis on March 5, 1934, to parents John and Margaret (Nelson) laquinto. He grew up and attended schools in Minneapolis. When he started junior high, he also started working on farms. Throughout his life, he had many different jobs, especially as a maintenance mechanic keeping trucks up and running.
He worked at Willman and Sons Trucking Company for many years, going back and forth to work until he got injured on the job. After, Raymond stayed home to maintain his homestead in Isle, Minnesota, where he resided for 42 years. Ray supported veterans and assisted VFW Post 2816 in Isle. He also volunteered his time helping the Girl Scouts with his wife and kids. He loved traveling to different places during Minnesota winters, especially down south to Brownsville, Texas, to spend time at the beach and go bike riding. He loved tinkering with vehicles and small engines. Every chance he got, he would go fishing. His favorite thing was working on his land. He spent a lot of time outdoors cutting trees and planting flowers. When he was not outside, he enjoyed watching cars drive by and animals in his yard. Additionally, he enjoyed hunting, feeding birds and animals on his land, being friendly with everyone, helping others, and caring for his dogs.
Raymond is preceded in death by first wife, Glorian; parents, John and Margaret; sister, Rita Stifter; brothers, Sam laquinto and Russell laquinto; son, Steven; and daughter, Tina.
He is survived by his second wife, Claudia; children with Glorian: Ray, David, John, Julie, and Jeffery; children with Claudia: Robert, Dude, Anita, and Cynthia; brother, Robert laquinto, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service will held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Dresser-Methven Funeral Home in Mora. Visitation will be from 12 until 1 P.M. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery in Isle.
