Randy Olson of rural Askov, MN passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on May 12, 2026.

He is survived by his husband, Dudley Olson, brother Mike (Renee) Olson of Willow River, sisters Jean (Mark) Huntington of Moose Lake and Laurie (Mike) Decker of Mahtowa. He is proceeded in death by his parents Anne and Donald Olson, sister Lynnell Westerberg, brother Jeff (Jackie) Olson and nephew James Westerberg.

Randy was a volunteer for several organizations, including the Pine County DFL and the East Central MN Pride festival. He was a founding member of the East Central MN Men's Circle.

Randy worked many years at Banning Junction, followed by many years working in the kitchens at Grand Casino Hinckley. He loved to cook and bake for family and friends.

Randy loved his pets. He raised many animals on his hobby farm. He was an avid gardener and spent time feeding birds and wildlife.

Randy enjoyed hosting gatherings of family and friends. A potluck celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, on their hobby farm located at 32234 Low Landing Road, Askov, from 2 to 6 pm.
