Ramona Ione (Courrier) Olson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Elderwood Assisted Living in Hinckley, MN. She was 92 years old.

Born on August 7, 1934, in Foster Township, Ramona was the daughter of Marvin and Viola (Sydow) Courrier. From an early age, she demonstrated a deep-seated compassion for others, leading her to pursue a career in nursing after graduating high school. Her dedication to caring for others became a defining aspect of her life.

In the early part of her journey, Ramona moved to Rock Point, Arizona, where she met the love of her life, Robert Olson. Their union began in 1961 on the Navajo Indian Reservation and blossomed as they started a family together. After a brief time in California, they made their home in Minnesota, where they lovingly raised their four children.

Ramona’s life reflected her many passions and interests. As an active member of the Gideons, she embraced a strong spirit of community service. Her love for nature was evident in her passion for gardening and hiking, where she found solace in the beauty of the outdoors. After retirement, Ramona was especially fond of visiting national parks and cherished the moments spent exploring mountains or walking on beaches. She loved eating her seafood, especially scallops and whatever sweets she could find on her adventures.

Known for her culinary talents, Ramona delighted in cooking and baking a variety of sweets, sharing her famous caramel popcorn, donuts, cinnamon rolls, and cookies with loved ones—a testament to her nurturing spirit and love for family.

Ramona is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; her parents, Marvin and Viola; her brother, Marvin, Jr.; and her beloved grandson, Tony. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Taylor of Austin, TX; Sarah (Scott) Swanson of Bruno, MN; Naomi (Fabrizio) Cicconi of Woodruff, SC; and son, Nathan Olson of Sandstone, MN. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Andre, Rachel, Danicia, Dallas, Hannah, Kassandra, Abigail, Elizabeth, Joshua, Emanuele; as well as her great-grandchildren, Miyah, Evie, Andrew, Mckinley, Cayson, Kiya, Tatum, True, Taylor, Meadow, and Aurora.

A memorial service will be held for Ramona at 11am on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Danforth Community Church with Scott Swanson officiating. Visitation will take place at the church starting at 10am and going until the start of the service. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
