Michael Sundstrom age 80 of Mora, MN passed away peacefully on 12/9/2022. He spent his final days surrounded by the love of his family.

Michael was born and raised in Grandy, MN where he loved to hunt, fish and help his grandparents on their farms. After high school, he saw the world while proudly serving his country in the US Navy. He earned an associate degree from the University of Minnesota and became a Minneapolis Police Officer. During his 28.5 years of service, he received numerous commendations and merit awards. He was a man of great faith who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, travel, helping others and was a big MN sports fan. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Fern and Gerald Sundstrom. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Maxine Sundstrom; his children Tracy Sundstrom (Bradley Keely), Chad Sundstrom (Xuan); stepson Clinton Welling; grandchildren Ella and Claire Sundstrom; sister Susan Monihan and her children as well as many cousins and friends.

A celebration of Sunny's life will be held Spring 2023 with details provided at that time. He will be greatly missed by those who love him.
