It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Mary Helen Voorhees, who passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 70. Mary was born on October 15, 1954, in Willmar, Minnesota, where she spent her childhood and graduated from Willmar High School. A true Midwestern spirit, she was known for her vibrant personality and adventurous spirit.

Mary had a passion for life that shone through in everything she did. She was not only an award-winning water skier but also a dedicated Master Gardener who found joy in cultivating beautiful gardens. Her love for nature was only rivaled by her passion for hiking and camping, where she created lasting memories with family and friends.

She married Robert Voorhees, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert and her parents, Leif and Helen Peterson. She leaves behind her loving sons, Cody and Jeremy, along with her treasured grandchildren—Cody's kids Caroline and Scarlett, and Jeremy's kids Maya and Emma—who will always remember her warmth and kindness.

In celebration of Mary's vibrant life, a visitation will be held at Holden Lutheran Church on April 24, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am with Sue Lyback, SAM officiating. We invite all who knew and loved Mary to join us in honoring her memory and the countless ways she touched our lives.
