Obituary

Mary (Pottratz) Rowley was born on November 19, 1942, at the Pokegama Hospital to Richard and Maude. Mary was raised her entire childhood on a farm in Hillman Township. She attended country school with all the local children of Hillman Township with fond memories of her favorite teacher, Edna Remer.

After high school, Mary met Larry after he was discharged from the Navy. They were united in marriage on June 9th, 1962, where they built a new home in Grasslake Township. There they raised two daughters and continued to reside for 60 years.

Mary worked numerous jobs throughout her life with the greater number of years working at Sheller Globe.

Mary was an avid reader, enjoying all genres, especially mysteries. She was very talented at embroidery, making numerous baby quilts, dish towels and pillowcases as family gifts.

Many years were enjoyed with Larry at the cabin as well as numerous vacations to Alaska. She loved to share her experience ziplining in Costa Rica.

Mary always had a cookie jar full of her homemade cookies for the grandkids when they came to visit. Her chicken and dumpling soup was a family favorite.

On October 27, 2026, Mary passed away at Eastwood Senior Living. She was 83 years old.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Val (Milt) Luttrell and Mona (Jeff) Norgaard, sister Kathy Hovland, brother, Dave (Pat) Pottratz, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
