Marlys Knutson died peacefully in her home in Hinckley, Minnesota on June 7, 2024, with family present.

Marlys was born in Watertown, SD and raised on a farm in Clear Lake, SD. She graduated from Castlewood High School and moved to the Twins Cities after graduation where she met her first husband Charles Fisher.  They had six children. She spent time as a waitress before becoming a bookkeeper at an hvac company where she met her second husband Chuck Knutson.

Marlys was very creative and spent time painting, sewing, needle crafting.  She also enjoyed puzzle building, reading, gardening and most if all BINGO.

Marlys was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, parents Martin and Ruth Temple, sister Darlene, and brother Robert.

Marlys is survived by her sisters Sharon (Clarence) Strampe of Sioux Falls, SD; Carol (Arnie (dec)) Angerhofer of Milbank, SD.  Her children, Kim (Bruce) Shaver of East Bethel, MN; Lori (Dave) Ando of Richmond VA; Gwyn (Dick) Doenz of Pine City, MN, Tammy (Leroy) Phillips of Cincinnati, IA; Dawn (Kevin) Adams of Oakdale, MN, Chad (Paula) Fisher of Siren, WI; stepchildren Jim (Patti) Knutson of Glendale, AZ, and Kathy (Brian) Wegner of Minneapolis, MN; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hinckley with Rev. Anthony Cloose officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church.
