Mark J Place, aged 66, of Mora, MN passed away February 22, 2024, at his home which he shared with his wife of 27 years.

Mark was born in Austin, MN in 1957. At the age of 9 he moved to Jordan MN with his family. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1975. Mark enjoyed his work as an industrial maintenance worker at Belle Pharmaceuticals in Blakely and Belle Plaine MN for 18 years. He was still working for Arelius Manufacturing in Braham when he passed away. He had been employed with Arelius for almost 11 years since Mark and Nancy's move to Mora MN.

Mark was living in Cologne when he met and married Nancy. They moved from Cologne to Belle Plaine MN in 1999. Mark and Nancy finally settled in Mora in 2012.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and was an avid reader. He was always working on a project and enjoyed working hard no matter what he was working on. Mark and Nancy enjoyed their Friday night Steak and Shrimp whether off the grill or from a local diner.

Mark is survived by his Wife Nancy. Sisters Vicki (Ronald) Mornson of Jordan, MN and Sheryl (Ralph) Flum of Alamo, CA. Brother Bradford (Terry) Place of Victoria, MN. Brother-in-Law Duane Fridges of Prior Lake, MN. Sister-in-Law Karen Stacey of Norwood-Young America, MN. Children Angela of Northern MN, Cathy of North Carolina and Jennifer of Excelsior, MN. Stepchildren Laura (Michael) Josephson of Ivanhoe, MN, Vickie (Lenny) Berens of Belle Plaine, MN, James (Kim) Henriksen of Oronoco and Patrick Henriksen of Kilkenny, MN. Also 8 Step Grandchildren and 7 Step Great Grandchildren.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Marjorie Place and sister Michelle Fridges.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00AM at the United Methodist Church in Mora, Minnesota with Pastor Dean Roush officiating.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
