Marilyn Joan Dockter of Hinckley, MN (formerly Oakes, ND) passed away peacefully at her home on April 5, 2023 after a short battle with lung cancer, with her daughters by her side. She was 76 years old.

Marilyn was born on August 7, 1946 to Norman and Gloria Chapek in Harvey, ND and grew up in Anamoose, ND. During her lifetime she lived in Hampton VA, Fargo ND, Oakes ND and finally moving to Hinckley MN.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and watching the birds and other wildlife around her home. Marilyn had the biggest heart and was witty and fun. She enjoyed a good party and her last wishes were to not have a funeral, but a party to include Captain Morgan, something sweet to eat or a cigarette in her remembrance.

She will be greatly missed by daughters, Shelly (Mike) Kroschel and Dawn (Bryon) Schulz; her four grandchildren, Rachel and Zach Kroschel, Alexa Sieg and River Dockter; brothers Rick (Dee) Chapek and Mike Chapek; nieces Nickie (Jared) Giffey, Sarah (Corey) McDonald and Jamie (Drew) Schwan; sister-in-law Joan Chapek and many others.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
