Loran Charles Melville, age 65 of Wahkon, MN, died at his home due to natural causes on July 13, 2025.
Loran was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 25, 1959 to Bernard and Beatrice (Bungert) Melville. He grew up and attended school in Prior Lake, MN, eventually moving to the Mille Lacs Lake area.
Loran enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and hanging out with friends and family. He had many skills and talents that were very impressive. He made custom jewelry for the ladies and custom knives for the men, some cooking and some hunting knives. He was an agate collector and was very proud to show his finds to everyone and was a handyman whose skills were the best. With just a phone call, he was one to come to the rescue anyone who needed help with a project. He experienced many health problems but kept on going and seldom complained.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Bea, brother Leonard Melville, two infant nieces and a nephew, as well as brothers-in-law Paul Burgett, Robert Parsons Sr. and Patrick McFadden.
His passing is our loss, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by daughter, Faith (Clifford) Swager, grandson, Devin (Breann Peterson) Swager, and two great grandchildren; siblings, Peggy (Dale) Segler, Patricia McFadden, Paula (Duane) Johnson, Pamela (Mark) Dellis, Lawrence (Lisa) Melville, Penny Burgett, Perri (Michael) Hannes, Pearl Parsons, Paige (Christopher) Walsh, Paulette Olson, Lee (Emma) Melville, Leslie (Teresa) Melville, Lance (Susan) Melville, Pauline (Roy) Melville-Fleischauer; sister-in-law, Julie Melville, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; long time significant other, Michelle Chandonnet, her son Tom Chandonnet and grandson Tommy.
A Celebration of Life will take place on September 21, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Bridgewood Church, 6201 W. 135th St., Savage, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be preferred.
Methven Funeral and Cremation Services of Isle, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
