Obituary

Lois Falk, 91 years of age and resident of Isle, MN, passed away Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born on June 1st, 1932, on the family farm in Stanchfield, MN, to Rudy and Arlene Peterson. She attended school in Rush Point, MN, and growing up she enjoyed driving the family's tractor. Lois graduated from Braham High School in 1950, where she was voted homecoming queen and enjoyed cheerleading and choir.

Lois married her high school sweetheart, Jim, on October 19th, 1952, in Rush Point, MN. They celebrated 66 years of marriage in 2018. Lois worked as a clerk at the First National Bank in Minneapolis. Shortly after Jim enlisted in the Service and was stationed in Oklahoma, Lois quit the bank and moved to be with him.  Jim and Lois moved back to Minneapolis in 1955, as Jim pursued work in the elevator business, and Lois stayed busy raising their four children. This pursuit brought them to Eau Claire, WI, and eventually back to Minneapolis.
In 1976, Lois and Jim took over Rushmore Campground on West Rush Lake, MN. Jim and Lois operated the campground together for 20 years before moving to Mille Lacs Lake in 2001, where they enjoyed retirement on the lake and loved being surrounded by their friends and family.

Lois' unwavering determination and warmth left a profound impact on those around her. She always greeted her family with open arms and a loving embrace, regardless of their age. Her favorite pastime was catching up with her children and grandchildren, whether it be over a cup of coffee and cake, or a heartwarming phone call filled with stories and life lessons. As the matriarch of the family, Lois was always concerned about the health, safety, and well-being of everyone, and she often reminded them to "drive safely" and "call me when you get home." She loved living near the water and listening to classical music, but nothing brought her greater joy than cuddling and laughing with her great-grandchildren, which earned her the title of "Great-Grandma." Lois was truly a remarkable woman who has left a lasting impact on the hearts of those around her.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Falk, parents Rudy and Arlene Peterson, sister Sarah (Andy) Anderson, and brother Thomas Peterson.

She is survived by her sister Grace (Dick) Prokasky and Sister in-law Sue Peterson and Eileen Falk: children: Sherri (Mike) Lofgren, Michael (Julie) Falk, Patricia LeVasseur, Joseph (Monica) Falk; Grandchildren: Michael Lofgren, Tyler (Nicole) Falk, Sean (Kristine) Lofgren, Alicia LeVasseur, Brittany (Jaziel) Silverness, Jordan (Dallas) Westergren, Benjamin Falk, Matthew (Myriah) LeVasseur, Joshua (Madison) Falk;
