It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Rae Lundquist (Barry), who left us peacefully at her home in Rush City, MN on January 1, 2025, at the age of 74.

Born on August 22, 1950, in Sisseton, South Dakota, Linda lived a vibrant life full of adventures that took her from Kansas City, Kansas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and even to the iconic Haight Ashbury in California, before settling down back in Minnesota—first in Robbinsdale, then Moose Lake, and finally Rush City.

Linda attended elementary school in Peever, SD, and continued her education in Minneapolis, where she graduated from Central High School. She later attended the Minneapolis Business School, paving the way for her successful career as an administration manager at Norwest Mortgage, from which she retired in 1985.

On May 14, 1977, Linda married her beloved husband, George "Sonny" Melvin Lundquist, and they enjoyed a beautiful life together until his passing. Linda was also known for her adventurous spirit, having enjoyed her time as a Boy Scout leader. A lover of life, Linda found joy in everything from gardening to playing cards with family. She had a song for everyone and cherished attending the Blues Fest. As a dedicated mother and grandmother, she always looked forward to helping her kids and grandkids with their homework, pouring her love into everything she did.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, George Melvin Lundquist; her parents, Earl and Deloris Barry; her sister, Jeanette Fay Witthuhn; and her nephew, Tony Barry.

Linda is survived by son, Mark Steven Lundquist of Cloquet, MN, along with his daughter, Autumn Skye Gorr of Minneapolis and his son, Alexander Nicholas Lundquist of Cloquet; daughter, Teri Lea (Lundquist) Umbreit and husband, Samuel Thomas Umbreit of Rush City; along with their sons, Grayson Brant Devlin of New Richmond, WI, Landon Michael Kosloski of Rush City, Emerson James Umbreit of Rush City; daughter Lindsay Jean Wood (Shannon) of Henderson along with her daughter, Haven Mariah Wood of Henderson and her son Hunter Patrick Wood of Hallock.

A memorial service will be held at 11am for Linda on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Sandstone Methven Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
