Obituary

Lee Harry Oslowski Jr., 69, of Sandstone, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was born on October 17, 1956, and grew up in Delano, Minnesota.

Lee's first marriage blessed him with two daughters, Amanda and Jackie. He later married Arlene, and together they built a life and a blended family, with Lee becoming a dad to Dustin Hemgren, Quintin Andersen, and Amanda (Bear) Andersen Knopik. Lee and Arlene would have celebrated 36 years of marriage this November.

Over the years, Lee worked in a number of trades, from cutting down trees to his final job as a machinist. Whatever the job, he took great pride in doing it right. He was, simply put, one hard-working man.

Outside of work, Lee's passions were hunting and fishing, and fishing was his true love. Oh, how that man loved to fish. If it weren't for limits, he would have stayed on the lake all day. He was also an amazing cook. Whether it was his famous turkey sandwiches, smoked deer, or fried fish with his famous dipping sauce, or his most recent creations on the smoker, Lee took just as much pride in watching people enjoy his food as he did in making it. And the man loved to tinker. In the garage, in the basement, or out on his boat, if there was something to fiddle with, Lee could happily be at it for hours.

Lee is survived by his wife, Arlene Oslowski; daughter Jackie (Rico) Nevotion Woodard; Dustin Hemgren, Quintin Andersen, and Amanda (Bear) Andersen Knopik; grandchildren Desiree Weaver; Trevon (TJ) Brantley; Nyasia Woodard; Zayne Knopik, Sage Knopik, and Dimitri Gustafson; great-grandchild Octavia Tower; and siblings Donny (Brenda) Oslowski, Gail Loeffler, and Gary O'borsky; along with many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Oslowski; his parents, Lee Oslowski Sr. and Viola O’Borsky; his brother, Dennis (Hicky) Oslowski; and his sister, Peggy Kolasa.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Methven Funeral and Cremation Services, 114 5th Street, Sandstone, MN 55072. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

A memorial gathering will also take place on Wednesday, September 16, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the home of Jackie Nevotion Woodard. For the address and more information, please contact Jackie at oslowj22@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arlene Oslowski to help cover funeral expenses.

We like to think Lee is back together with his daughter Amanda, fishing side by side on a lake where there are no limits.
