Mora

Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Richard Forshier, a lifelong resident of Mora, MN, who left us on November 15, 2025, after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer. Born on February 7, 1938, in Mora, Lee spent all 87 years of his life in Peace Township, always calling that beautiful acreage home.

Lee's working life began at Glen's Tire when he was just 17, a place he dedicated nearly half a century to—46 years to be exact. For 52 years, from 1971 to 2023, he was the steadfast Fire Warden for Peace Township, always ready to help his community. He attended Warman and Emerson country school and later graduated from Mora High School in 1956.  That same year, he met the love of his life, Sharon Crabtree. They tied the knot on June 19, 1957, and their marriage lasted a remarkable 68 years.

When he wasn't busy at work, Lee enjoyed life on the farm, lovingly tending to his cows and sheep. He had a knack for finding unique treasures at garage sales, especially his beloved hand-blown glass swans.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nellie Forshier, brothers and their spouses; Jim (Mary), and Karl (Alberta).

He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters; Cheerie (Kirby) Olson, Penny Bratland, grandchildren, Kam (Nick) Schroeder, Dusty Olson, Kris Paech, RaeLynn Gottchalk (Travis), Lee (Stephanie) Paech, great grandchildren, Archer Schroeder, Honor Schroeder, Erin Olson, Oscar Olson, Austin Paech, Mariah Guetzkow, Tucker Lyon, Hilltina Gottchalk, Stella Gottchalk, Cruz Gottchalk, Rosalynn Gottchalk, Carter Paech, Riley Paech, and AvaRose Paech.

A Private Family Service is being planned.
