Obituary

LaVonne Marie Greenly lived a beautiful, faith-filled life and passed peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her children.

She was the loving wife of the late Marvin Greenly, who preceded her in death on July 2, 1994. LaVonne was a devoted mother to Michael, Janene (Mike), and Lee (Kathleen), and was preceded in death by her daughter, DaVonne, on October 16, 1994. Her bonus son, Gary (Dori), brought her great joy.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brandi, Brianne (Karl), Trevor, Aislynn, Kyria (Brad), Jessie (Parker), Josie (Justin), Riley (Hannah), KC (Kassi), Crystal (Kyle), McKenzie (Chris), Candy (Tim), and Clinton (Ricky). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren—Shante, Sierra, Camrin, Sassy, Aiden, Alayna, Noelani, Shanley, Ronan, Aubrey, Adriana, Adalynn, Bowman, Oliver, Richard, Rowdy, Kyle, Kooper, Kelsie, Calvin, Cru, Raven, Hailey, and Melvin—as well as one great-great-grandson expected in August, along with many extended family members.

Her children remember her as a hardworking and loving mother, deeply rooted in tradition. She created a home that welcomed not only her family but also friends, neighbors, and community members. Her door was always open, and she rarely missed keeping up with the Minnesota Twins during baseball season.

Her grandchildren knew her as a source of wisdom and unconditional love—a trusted listener, guide, and friend. Time spent with her was simple yet meaningful, often filled with conversation and a card game.

Her family was her greatest accomplishment, and she was the steadfast rock who held them together.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Essential Emergency Medicine, Sandstone, and the dedicated team at St. Mary's Critical Care in Duluth for their compassionate care.

A private family memorial service will held in her honor.
