Kayla
Maegi
Dec 20, 2008 — Mar 19, 2024
Mora
Kayla Maegi of Mora, MN passed away at age 15 on March 19th, 2024 due to medical complications from a birth defect. Kayla was born on December 20th, 2008 to parents Brian and Jenny, and brother, Curtis Maegi.
Kayla was a student at Mora High School and was highly involved and a part of many different Mustang families. She was a ninth grade representative for Student Council, was the biggest cheerleader for her brother Curtis during the Football and Track seasons, was a catcher and best friend to many on the Softball team and was a valued member of the Wrestling Family.
There was hardly a time when you didn't see Kayla with a smile on her face. Walking the halls, you could always hear her unique "Sup Dog" commentary which she greeted her classmates and peers with. She was a top tier student, dedicated to her classes and always making relationships with her teachers, regardless of what subject she was learning about.
Kayla was looking forward to many things in life. The spring where she would find the softball field, summer with lake life and sunsets, managing the football team for her brother's senior year, wrestling, where she would potentially move into a starting role, and finally, getting her driver's license. She wasn't quite sure what she would do with it, but it was another step forward in growing up and becoming an adult.
Kayla will be dearly missed. She impacted a lot of lives in her short time here, but each one was with a positive influence. With any luck, we can all live life like Kayla did. Work hard, play hard and with no regrets.
Kayla is survived by her parents, Brian and Jenny, her brother Curtis, her dearest friends and her many Mustang families that she was a part of.
Kayla is preceded in death by her grandparents.
