Kathleen "Kathy" Masterson Rodenborg was born in Duluth, MN on May 25, 1948 to parents Violet and James M. Masterson. She passed away at her home in Finlayson, Mn on May 9, 2025, with her loving husband Reuben by her side.

Kathy grew up in Proctor, MN and graduated from Proctor High School in 1966. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Kathy was involved in Girl Scouts, enjoyed roller skating, and was a member of the Accordianaires led by Johnny Copisky. As a 12-year-old she was involved in national contests and her ensemble was featured on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

As an adult Kathy held positions with Unisys, Polaris, Benson Optical, and retired as manager for the American Legion in Pine City. She was active in bowling and ran a traveling karaoke business with her husband.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Violet, infant daughter Lynette Katherine Zimmerman, her sister and best friend Nancy Christie. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Reuben; brother James (Cheryl) Masterson of Duluth; nephews Jim (Kelly) Christie of Bay City, MI, David (Amanda) Christie of Bay City, MI, Brian (Jenny) Masterson of Hinckley, MN; niece Amy Masterson (Rick Carlson) of Proctor; and good friend, Anne Schumacher Nynas of Duluth, MN.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Kathy on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Finlayson United Methodist Church, located at 2197 State Highway 18, Finlayson, MN at 11am. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
