Karen Eileen Rice-Holder passed away in her home in Sandstone MN on June 3rd 2026. She was 73 years old.

Karen was born in Minneapolis MN on December 7th 1952. She loved art, theater, music, culture, and was a fine artist in her own rights. Her abilities seemed endless in a number of mediums. She was creative, eccentric, multi-talented with a spunky attitude. Mostly she was a warm, loving, wonderful human being. She will be missed beyond words.

Karen is survived by her son Christopher (Cara) Schultz; sisters Laura Standfield, Jennifer Rice, Janice Ruffino; brother Chris Olson; grandchildren Kylee and Coleman; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Karen is proceeded in death by her husband George Holder; father Daniel Rice; mother Eileen Rice; sisters Edna Evanov and Cecilia (CeCe) Olson.

A memorial celebration will be held at 2:00 pm June 27th 2026 at Karen's sister's home, located at 1945 133rd Lane NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304.
