Judy Gay Schmidt-Meany, of Isle, Minnesota, passed away on January 24, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.  She was 78 years old.

Judy was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota on March 27, 1944 to Roger and Violet (Johnson) Nolan.  She grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School.  She enjoyed a long career in HR for Blue Cross and retired as the head of that department.  She lived in Mankato and Minneapolis before retiring to Isle.

She was married to Richard Schmidt and together they had one daughter, Kris.  After Richard passed, she found love again and married Gerald Meany, and gained three more step-children; Mike, Steve and Michelle.

As you all know, Judy was an amazing woman.  Her heart was big, and her whit was even bigger.  She loved spending time in her gardens, helping people, and most of all being with her family.  She leaves behind so many special memories that will be cherished forever.  Until we meet again- "We love you a bushel and a peck".

She is preceded in death by her parents, Violet E. (Johnson) and Roger B. Nolan, husband Richard C. Schmidt, sister Sandra Phillips and brother-in-law, Norman Phillips.

Judy is survived by her husband Gerald Meany, daughter Kristin Schmidt (Troy), stepsons; Mike (Marty) Meany, Steve (Teresa) Meany and son Will, stepdaughter Michelle Meany and son Devin, brother Greg (Kim) Nolan, grandchildren; Emmitt, Elissa and Ethan, and great-granddaughters Ella and Eliza, special friends; Nancy Rizer Schmidt and Michelle Loren and so many others, the list is too long.
