Judy Ellen
Johnson
Jul 26, 1947 — Oct 9, 2025
Pine City
Judy Johnson of Pine City and Hinckley, MN went to her heavenly father on October 9, 2025. She was born July 26, 1947 to Harry & Sigrid Johnson. She grew up on a farm in the Friesland area along with her brother Gerald. Judy was a blessing to many people during her life on earth. Anytime she laughed, you had to laugh right with her and when she told a story, you loved to listen.
As a child, she made many friends at Friesland school and DAC in Sandstone. As an adult, she loved working at Mora DAC and Sandstone DAC/P.H.A.S.E., where she mowed lawns, cleaned hotel rooms at the casino, sorted parts, and worked with a loom.
After the passing of her parents, she was a blessing to whoever she lived with. A few of those families were Frank & Jane Grundmeier, Gene & Sandy Winkel, and Brian & Linda Dvorak. She lived with the Dvorak's for 25 years. The last two years of her life, she lived at Cross Lake Foster Home in Pine City.
She enjoyed going to church at Grace & Emmanuel Lutheran Churches. She loved being around children & animals. She was an animal whisperer because all animals seemed to be drawn to her. She was always attending Linda & Brian's children's school activities including: basketball, volleyball, softball, band concerts, and any other activities they participated in. She was Amber and Ethan's biggest fan.
She enjoyed doing her yarn, watching action & animal movies, golf, Gopher Football & Basketball, and of course the Vikings (She would say "Go Vikings!" with her fist pumped in the air, even if they weren't playing). She was a social butterfly & enjoyed visiting with family, friends, and even strangers. Everyone loved Judy. While everyone is going to miss her deeply, we are so grateful that she is in the arms of Jesus.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Harry & Sigrid, brother Gerald (Harriet) Johnson, infant sibling Johnson, and nephew Garry Johnson.
She is survived by nephews Brian (Jodi) Johnson and David Johnson, niece Pam (James) Murray, great nephew Chris Johnson, and many great nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her foster families: Gene & Sandy Winkel and Brian & Linda Dvorak, and their kids Ethan Dvorak and Amber (Tyler) Degarmo, and many friends too numerous to list all.
A graveside service will be held for Judy at 2pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the Dell Grove Emmanual Lutheran Cemetery, with visitation at the church from 1:30pm to 2:00pm. A lite luncheon will be served following the burial at the church.
