Judith "Judy" E. Trifilette, age 84, passed away at Golden Horizons in Sandstone, MN, with her granddaughter, Amber by her side on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023.

Judith was born on September 14, 1939, to Ernest and Marion Carlson in Duluth, MN. Judy grew up in the old village of Fon-du-lac S.W., Duluth, MN. She attended Morgan Park High School. Judy married Tony Pryatel, Jr. and they had three girls: Wendy (Wendell) Robinson, Melinda McGee, and Beth (Jay) Seidl.

Later in life Judy married Hugh Trifilette and was blessed with stepchildren; Carol (John) Botten, Mike (Juanita) Trifilette, Rosie (Lee) Englund, Sally (Ralph) Augustin, and Anne (Rick) Kucinski.

Very special to Judy are her niece and nephews; Cindy (Tom) Yewell, Ted (Mary Jo) Plys, and Mark (Barb) Plys. Judy is survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Judy worked as a dietician for many years at Lake Haven. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Before her long battle of dementia, Judy traveled from Hawaii to Spain, Canada to the West Indies, and a lot of places in between. Judy and her friend, Barb Ion hiked Isle Royal. She loved fishing and camping.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother and father; sisters, Genevieve Cohen and Shirley Plys; and her husband, Hugh Trifilette.

Judy did not want services, but wanted a small gathering for the immediate family, which will be announced at a later date.
