Joseph Marvin Wolf, Sr. of Sandstone, MN passed away on September 25, 2024 surrounded by family at the Sandstone Health Care Center. He was born on January 17, 1936, in Saint Paul, MN to Joseph and Minne Wolf. He was 88 years old.
Growing up in St. Paul, Joe attended several schools before proudly serving in the US Army from 1958 to 1960. He married the love of his life, Delores Hischer, in 1957, and together they shared almost 65 years of marriage. Joe worked various jobs, his favorite was being a bus driver for Industries in Cambridge, MN, where he garnered awards for his exceptional care and service.
Apart from his work, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, playing the slots at the casino, trying his luck at scratch offs, and collecting memorabilia, especially that of his hero John Wayne. He had a love for picnics and cherished moments with his kids and grandkids. Joe was a Minnesota Vikings fan and collected baseball and football cards with his grandson John Jr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Wolf, his parents Joseph and Minnie Wolf, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carol Wolf, brothers in law; Tim Geiger, and Randy Christman, two granddaughters Jennifer Stafne and Cassie Wolf, son in law, John Stafne and several in laws.
Joe is survived by his children, Dawn Stafne, Allen (Jillian) Wolf, Scott (Coral) Wolf, John (Connie) Wolf, and Joseph (Tracy) Wolf Jr., siblings; Joni (Ted) Shade, Julie Christman, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, brothers in law, and sisters in law.
A Graveside Service honoring both Joe and Delores will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Rosehill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Chaplain Allen, and Military Honors will be provided by the Sandstone Honor Guard. Join us in remembering a man who brought joy to the lives of countless individuals.
