John “Johnny” Vogel, age 61, of Mora, passed away on September 15, 2026.

Born to Rudy and Bonnie, John spent his career as a talented carpenter. He took pride in his work and was known for his ability to create and build with his own hands.

John had a contagious smile that could light up a room. To many loved ones, he was a hero because of the way he showed up for others, helped when he could, and made an impact on the people around him.

At an early age, John was naturally athletic. During his school years, he excelled in sports and left his mark at Ogilvie High School, where he still holds the school record for discus. A lasting reminder of his determination, talent, and dedication.

John also found some of his greatest happiness outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed the peace and freedom of the woods and the water. These passions became a meaningful part of who he was, creating memories that those who shared those moments with him will treasure forever.

John will be missed by his daughters, Miranda (Tim), Hanna (Dillon), and Emma (Michael); grandchildren, Adam, Anthony, Erika, Liam, and Svea; sisters, Lucy (Leroy), Edie (Steve), Janice (Bob), Janet (Paul), Margie (Dave), and Cindy; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph ‘Rudy’; mother, Bonita ‘Bonnie’; and brother, Daniel ‘Danny’.

A celebration of life will be held on November 14th, 2026 from 12 - 3pm at Ogilvie High School.
