John W. Seegebarth of Hinckley, MN passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Elderwood Assisted Living in Hinckley. He was 60 years old.

John was a beloved son, father, grandpa, and friend. Born on August 25, 1963, in St. Paul, MN, to Virgil and Joyce (Zehms) Seegebarth, he spent his early years in Stillwater, MN where he attended elementary school, he graduated from White Bear High School in 1982. John had a diverse career, working as an automotive painter, a machinist, and more recently as a custodian at Hinckley Elementary, where he made a positive impact.

A passionate outdoorsman, John had a deep love for deer hunting and fishing. He often shared tales of his fishing adventures, enjoying the company of his dad, brothers, sons, and friends during these excursions. John enjoyed being a dad and was a dedicated father to his two sons, Jacob and James.

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lula Seegebarth, William and Marie Zehms, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

John is survived by his sons, Jacob (Renee) Seegebarth of Ogilvie, MN, James Seegebarth of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Ryan, Cora, and baby boy due in May; parents, Virgil and Joyce Seegebarth of Hinckley, MN; brothers, James (Judi) Seegebarth of Rising City, NE, Gerald (Gina) Seegebarth of Pine City, MN; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

John will be deeply missed by his family, including his sons, grandchildren, parents, and brothers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. John will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and love for the great outdoors. Though he may be gone, he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held to honor John at 2 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in Hinckley, MN. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
