John (Dave)
David Marnich
Oct 8, 1965 — Apr 1, 2024
Finlayson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of John "Dave" David Marnich on Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home in Finlayson, MN at the age of 58 years old. Dave was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Dave was born on October 8, 1965, in Moose Lake, MN, to parents Paul and Edythe Jean (Paleri) Marnich. Dave spent his childhood growing up on Big Pine Lake in Finlayson, fishing, swimming, and dirt biking with friends. After graduating from Finlayson High School in 1984, he remained in the area, marrying his high school sweetheart, Suzanne Millner, on June 11, 1988.
Dave dedicated himself to his various jobs as a field commercial construction supervisor, a bartender at the Finlayson Muni, and mowing and plowing around the community. However, his favorite job was being a grandfather. He was a proud member of both the Finlayson Community Club and the Finlayson Giese Sportsman's Club dedicating many hours to community celebrations and lending a hand wherever needed. While he worked hard, he also knew how to have fun--living life exactly how he wanted. From enjoying his land, to hunting, fishing, and rocking out to AC/DC in concert and at home, Dave lived life to the fullest.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jean, and his brother-in-laws, Ron Olson and Terry Millner. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Suze Marnich; daughters, Brittany (Chris Bruner) Goff, Alyssa (Matt) Sarberg, Katie (Cole) Grandgenett; son, David (Kelly) Marnich; brother, Mike Marnich; sisters, Deb Olson, Kathy (Don) Mead, Lisa (Tim) Redepenning; and grandchildren, Evander Sarberg, Everly Grandgenett, Brinley Grandgenett, and Oslo Sarberg.
Dad, the legacy of your life and love will never be forgotten. We promise to keep you alive in the memory of our hearts and lives always. Love, Your Kids.
At this time, a private family celebration is being planned for a later date.
