Joan Helen Olson, age 78, formerly of Center City and Mora, passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 14th, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia.

Joan was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Gertrude and Peter Lorbiecki on May 31st, 1947. Raised in Rosholt, Joan lived with her family on a farm until she later moved in with her sister in Milwaukee to finish her senior year in high school.  After finishing high school, she worked as an administrative payroll specialist in downtown Milwaukee. During this time, she met the love of her life, Robert (Bud) Olson, and was married in Milwaukee on October 1st, 1966, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They were married for 58 years. About a year after their marriage, Bud and Joan welcomed their first and only child, Robert (Bob) J. Olson Jr., on December 16th, 1967. Bob was Joan's greatest pride and joy and she was a fantastic mother, later becoming an equally amazing grandmother to her two grandchildren, Ashley (Olson) Bronson and William (Bill Olson) VanBlaricom. Joan and Bud resided in Mora until around 2020 running their own business out of their household until they retired and moved to Center City to be closer to their son.

Her legacy will live on through the memories she shared, the values instilled in her family, and the love she gave. Joan was highly devoted to her Catholic faith and practiced daily. Besides her family, God was her number one passion. Her other passions included cooking, which brought warmth and joy to family gatherings, gardening, painting, crafting, thrift shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Her family takes solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Peter Lorbiecki; her sister, Rose Myska; her brother-in-law Ernie Myska; her brother Bill Lorbiecki and sister-in-law Marge Lorbiecki; sister-in-law Joanne Lorbiecki; and her brother-in-law Tony Myska.

Joan is survived by her husband, Robert (Bud) Olson Sr.; her son, Robert (Sheri) Olson Jr.; her siblings, Peter (Joanne) Lorbiecki and Betty (Tony) Myska; her grandchildren, Ashley (Mason) Bronson and Bill (Tim) VanBlaricom; and a host of other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bridget's of Sweden Catholic Church, (13060 Lake Blvd, Lindstrom, MN)  on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery in Hinckley, Minnesota.
