Jessie Marie Pagel, age 74, of Sandstone, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Sandstone Health Care Center.

Jessie was born on March 6, 1947 in the township of Oakwood located in Wabasha, MN. She graduated from high school and married her husband, Dale C. Pagel a few years later, on February 11, 1972. Jessie loved being a stay-at-home mom, raising her two children, Shawn and Katherine. Throughout the years Jessie held down different jobs, but usually doing one of the things she loved the most, cooking. Jessie worked at a daycare in Rochester, cooking for the little people there. As time went on Jessie moved up north making her home in Mora, then Hinckley, and finally settling in Askov, MN. During this time Jessie stayed in the same line of work, cooking at Grand Casino Hinckley and being a fantastic homemaker. There were many things that brought a smile to Jessie's face, but the one thing that made her eyes sparkle was spending time with her grandchildren. Other hobbies that Jessie enjoyed were cooking up new dishes and the traditional ones too, reading, and spending time with her family.

Jessie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale and her parents, Joseph and Mildred Maringer.

Jessie is survived by her son, Shawn Schmidt of Rochester, MN; her daughter, Katherine Bliss of Askov, MN; sisters, Sharon Danson, Ardith Lindsay; brothers Lenard Plank, LeRoy Plank; and her grandchildren, Anthony and Stephen Bliss of Askov, MN.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date in Rochester, MN.
