Jerome "Jerry" Dean Ellefson, our beloved car enthusiast from Willow River, MN, left us on September 22, 2024, peacefully. He was born in St. Louis Park, MN on April 20, 1962, to his loving parents, Donald and Gladys (Parent) Ellefson.

Graduating from South High School in 1980, Jerry's passion for mechanics led him to earn a master's degree from Dunwoody College. Jerry always had a passion for fixing cars, a skill he honed from his teens. He had an incredible work ethic and, after graduation, quickly secured a job at White Bear Lake Auto before moving to Willow River and starting his own successful auto mechanic business in 1993. Always willing to lend a hand, Jerry was known throughout the community as the go-to guy for anything automotive. During this time Jerry and his wife, Nancy, raised their three daughters in Willow River while Jerry's two older daughters from a previous marriage would spend their weekends with him.

Despite battling health issues, including diabetes and kidney failure, Jerry never lost his charm or sense of humor. His dedication to his craft remained unwavering until the end, thanks to the support of his employer and friend, Tommy Balut.

In his free time, Jerry enjoyed mud trucks, four-wheeling, camping, and attending concerts with his kids. He had a big heart and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy as a proud father and grandpa will live on.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Lynna Jensen, Taryn Ellefson, Porsche (Travis) Kohler, Samantha Ellefson, Nella Ellefson; grandkids, Jaycee Kohler, Hunter Kohler, Kaelyn Chambers, Taelynn Tober; many friends, cousins, and family members. A special thank you to Chipper Balut for all you have done over the years.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Donald; stepmom, Dorothy Ellefson; and brother, Wally Ellefson.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Jerry starting at 2pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, starting at Travis and Porsche's home. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Jerry.
