Jennifer Jane (Gunderson) McCready, age 55, of Andover, MN, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, with her family at her side.

Jennifer was born on September 10, 1969, in Mora, MN, where she grew up. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. She attended Mora High School where she played basketball and tennis, for which she received all- conference honors and advanced to the regions in doubles with her sister Julie in 1986.

She played the flute in band, was a member of the National Honor Society, choir, pop group, and in the cast of "42 nd Street". She attended Bethel College and went on to Mankato State where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1993.

She met Greg McCready at Mankato State, and they were married on August 5, 1994. They had two sons, Nicholas, born in 1997 and Zachary, born in 2002.

Professionally she had a successful career with Health Partners and Medtronic for 30 years.

Jennifer was a classy and generous lady who was very loyal. Her sons were her pride and joy, and she especially loved watching them play sports throughout their high school and college years. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, sitting by the lake, the MN Vikings, feeding the birds, and taking care of her cat Guiness. Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Gary, grandparents Albert and Mina Hansen and Sigurd and Helen Gunderson.

She is survived by sons Nicholas of Essex Junction, Vermont, and Zachary of Andover, MN, mother Marian Gunderson of Mora, sister Julie (Jim) Fore of Mora, brother Jon (Jess) Gunderson of Grand Rapids, MN, nieces Katie (Jeremy) Lewerenz of Mora, Becky (Mike) Chaloupka of New
Braunfels, Texas, Amy (Cole) Bangerter of Forest Lake, MN, nephew Trenton Fore of Mora, great nieces and nephews Tara, Taya, Wyatt, Caiden, Amelia, Nora, Charlie and Grady, longtime high school friends Shelly, Melissa and Nicole, good friends Lynn and Arika, and many other relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held at Methven Funeral Home in Mora on Sunday, February 16, 2025, from 2-4pm with a Service to follow from 4-5pm.
