Obituary

Jeanne Elizabeth (Dingels) Kennedy, age 68, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025 at her home with family after battling cancer for 3 years. She is survived by her husband Jonathon (Sr) and her two sons Jonathan Jr (Jill) and Jason (Melissa) along with her 5 grandchildren Addie, Madison, Emerson, Jacob and Brooks.  She is also survived by her four siblings, Mary (Tom) Zitzmann, Jim (Cheryl) Dingels, Julie Bakke, and Kathy (Randy) Bruns.

Jeanne was born July 24, 1956 in Sleepy Eye, MN to parents Vernon and Adeline Dingels. She lived on a farm in Gibbon with her family and graduated from Gibbon High School. After high school, she attended Hutchinson Vocational School and later moved to St. Cloud where she met her husband, Jonathon. They raised Jonathan and Jason in Shakopee, Minnetonka, Otsego and eventually moved to Hinckley after retirement.

Jeanne loved baking and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed the hummingbirds that would often visit her feeders.  She especially cherished her time going to her sons and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. She treasured her time with her grandchildren and loved the family traditions of cooking extravagant feasts, kickball and board games.

She was a warrior during her diagnosis with cancer and always had a positive attitude and continued doing the things she loved. Jeanne would often put psalms in her caring bridge updates. "Psalm 23:6 NIV – Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life."

Jeanne is remembered for her great heart of compassion for family and strangers. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Adeline Dingels and her brother-in-law Mark Bakke.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 10, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hinckley, MN with Fr. Joseph Sirba officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00am.  Lunch to follow.
