Janice Wanda Stole Oak age 88, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Janice was born on April 30, 1936, in Halstad, MN to Alfred and Mabel (Gilbertson) Stole. She graduated from Halstad High School in 1954 and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. Upon completion of her coursework, she became a secretary at Interstate for five years.

Janice married Wayne Oak of McIntosh, MN on June 18, 1960. They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.

She was employed by the Sandstone School District 576 in Sandstone for 23+ years before retiring in August of 1998. Janice was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, a Charter member of the Sandstone Quarry Lions Club, and served several years on the Pine County HRA Board of Directors in Sandstone.

Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandson were the loves of her life, and she was so proud of all of them. Jan enjoyed spending time with her friends for Thursday morning coffee and monthly birthday lunches, baking, cooking, and looking after and helping others. She will be lovingly remembered by husband Wayne, sons Steven (Dorene) of Shakopee, Kevin (Lou Ann) of Edina, daughter Kristen (Frank Diggan) of Savage, grandchildren, Jacob, Karly, Ryan, Ben, Danielle (Tyler), Haley, Megan, great grandson, Benson, sister-in-law, Marge Stole of Richfield, JoAnn Manlove of Park Rapids, several nieces and nephews and many special friends and relatives.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Roger and Marlan.

A memorial service will be held for Janice at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 339 Division Street, Sandstone, MN, with Pastor Tim Ehling officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service starting. After lunch Janice's burial will take place at Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone, MN.
