James Adam Schaefer (Wimp), 74, passed away on June 10, 2025, due to heart failure.  Jim was born on April 26,1951 in Rush City, Minnesota to the late Percy and Helen (Edinger) Schaefer.  Jim was preceded in death by his sisters Pat (Marvin) Stengrim and Kathy (Ray) Libra.

Jim was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was raised in Hinckley.   After high school, he attended Pine County Tech and obtained his welding certificate.  Jim spent time in Florida and Alaska, but Minnesota was always home.  On September 21, 1974, Jim married Carolyn Sikkink at First Presbyterian Church in Hinckley.  They began their married life and made their home in St. Louis Park.  In 1980, Jim and Carolyn welcomed their son Ryan James into their lives.  Jim, Carolyn, and Ryan spent many weekends in Hinckley at their cabin.  Jim was a proud member of Laborers Union 563 until his retirement.

In 2014, Jim and Carolyn relocated to Grindstone Lake and Jim enjoyed being part of the Hinckley community once again.  In 2019, Jim's biggest blessings were born—his twin grandsons, Leo and Henry.   The boys were the light of his life and made Jim laugh and smile—Jim loved being called Papa.

Jim is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sikkink Schaefer; son Ryan (Kasie) Schaefer along with grandsons Leo and Henry; brother Tom (Linda) Schaefer; and brother Joe (Diane) Schaefer.

A service of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11am at First Presbyterian Church in Hinckley with Pastor Dan Brendsel officiating.  Visitation will be from 10am-11am.  Music is being provided by Kim Sikkink Halbert and Elizabeth Sikkink.  Casketbearers are Holly Altendorf Keeley, Pamala Schaefer Berning, Amy Schaefer Gatz, Tina Libra Sederberg, Troy Libra, Tripp Libra, Mike Schaefer, Brian Schaefer, and Jeff Schaefer.  Eulogy by Kim Carlson Magyar.  Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
