Harvey Elmer Volk, age 89, of Sandstone, MN passed away peacefully on December 19, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.

Harvey was born on April 22, 1932 to William and Esther (Schultz) Volk in Redwood, MN, where he was also baptized on May 15, 1932. He moved to Rutledge, MN with his family when he was 5 years of age. Harvey attended Peace Lutheran Church where he was confirmed. Harvey attended Willow River School through the 8 ^th grade. In January of 1951 Harvey joined the Air Force, spending the next 4 years doing his part protecting his country during the Korean War. Returning home, Harvey married Doris Eiffler on July 23, 1955, making Sandstone their home for the next 66 years. Harvey was a hard working man, providing for his family driving truck, farming, and working construction. If you wanted to see a smile break out on Harvey's face all you had to do was ask him about any expertise on mechanical issues. He also loved his hunting adventures, specifically the nine point trophy buck hanging on the dining room wall. Harvey loved traveling with his wife Doris on many, many Las Vegas trips and the traditional memorial day fishing trips with the entire family for 20 plus years to a variety of lakes up north. The biggest trip that Harvey and Doris took was their trip to Europe. Harvey's retirement passions were restoring 1951 and 1953 Ford F-1 pickups, truck driving, farming, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Volk; brothers, LeRoy, Lloyd, Wallace; and sister, Darlene.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris; son, Ricki (Patty) Volk; daughter, Sandra Korf; sister, Delores (Gary) Harman; brother, Harley (Jean) Volk; grandchildren, Ryan (Brianna), Ashley (Ian), Megan (Brian), Shane (Miranda); great grandchildren, Noah, Brycen, Aubree, Maddison, Isaac, Carmen, Noah, Caden, Maya, Ava, Madilyn; and sister-in-law, Patsy Eiffler.

A funeral service will be held for Harvey on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until the beginning of the service. Following the service the family has invited those attending to lunch at the Sandstone Community Center (north door) located at 130 Oriole St, Sandstone, MN.

*Please be advised that anyone attending visitation or the service at Grace Lutheran Church is required to wear a mask at all times while in the church. There is absolutely no food or drink allowed in the church at this time.
